Tax Sale
The Lee County Tax Sale is held on the first Wednesday in May of each year at the Lee County Courthouse, South 9th Street, Opelika, Alabama.
The sale is held outside in the employee parking deck. A chair will be provided for each registered bidder.

A printed Tax Sale Listing will also be available for purchase on sale day for $5.00 cash.
What to Bring
- You may bring a table no larger than 4 ft. × 4 ft.
- There are no electrical outlets available. If you plan to use a computer or laptop, please bring a portable charger.
- You may want to bring a mobile hotspot for internet access.
- Please bring $5.00 cash to purchase a Tax Sale Listing.
First-Time Bidders
If this is your first time attending our Tax Sale:
- Paying by check: You must bring a Letter of Credit from your bank.
- Paying by card: Our service provider charges a 2.5% convenience fee. This fee is not included in the bid amount.
Sale Day Details
- The sale begins at 10:00 a.m. CST.
- You must arrive by 9:00 a.m. CST to complete the registration process.
- Please park in the parking lot off 10th Street.
- Proceed to the employee parking deck and check in at the registration table.
- At registration, you will receive your bidder number and may purchase a Tax Sale Listing.
- If you have not preregistered, you must report to the office first to complete a registration form before proceeding to the parking deck.
