New Alabama Resident: Vehicle Owned
If you moved from another state to Lee County, Alabama, and own your vehicle, you will need the following documents to complete your registration:
- Original Title
- Last registration
- Proof of Alabama Insurance
- Driver's License for each person on the title, if more than one owner
- Proof of Lee County Residency
- VIN Inspection Form - may be completed at any of our three offices or by a law enforcement representative
Proof of Lee County Residency
Acceptable proof of Lee County residency includes:
- Alabama driver's license with current Lee County address
- Power bill
- Gas bill
- Lease agreement
- Homestead paperwork
- Deed
- Affidavit of residency
Additional Documentation
Additional documentation may be required for certain circumstances, including:
- Military exemptions
- Disability access parking
- A portion specialized license plates
