Renew In Person

If you are renewing your vehicle registration in person, please bring the following:

What to Bring

• Courtesy reminder, if available
• Valid Alabama Driver License
• Current proof of insurance

When to Visit

The best time to renew your tag in person is generally between the 11th and 25th of the month.

To help reduce wait times, please note that:

• Mondays and Fridays are typically our busiest days.
• The first working day following a holiday is also typically busy.

Late Renewals

Vehicles renewed after the registration deadline are subject to a $15 late fee.

If the vehicle was not driven at any point during the period in question, please let us know. We can then determine whether a Non-Use Affidavit may be applied to the late penalties.

Important: All applicable ad valorem taxes must be current, regardless of whether the vehicle was driven during the expiration/renewal month.
