Leadership

Ingenuity's leadership team brings a tremendous amount of experience in Business, Information Technology, Telecommunications, and Energy.  Each of these senior leaders has a proven track record of success and the entire team has repeatedly proven that they will accept nothing short of success.

Rick Hayes - President & CEO
Rick founded Ingenuity in 2001 and today provides leadership for all of our activities. His career includes vast experience in providing information technology and optimization services to some of the world’s largest businesses and many government/education customers.

Before returning home to Alabama, Rick spent almost ten years moving around the world with EDS (which became the world’s largest computer services organization during his time there).  He led multiple large new application development and customization efforts for EDS customers in a variety of industries.  He has developed and directed multiple teams of over 100 programmers and business analysts for development projects.

Rick has led well over 1,000 developers and a vast array of application development projects.  During his time at EDS, Rick led teams that were responsible for some of the biggest outsourcing agreements and engagements ever completed.  Some of these engagements included large optimization efforts and after founding Ingenuity, Rick led multiple optimization/expense management projects that each generated over $4,000,000 in annual savings.

For eight years, Rick served his community (and hometown) as president of the Pelham City Council.  He took the lead on many initiatives including the creation of a new school system (which led to the building of two new schools), the construction of a city center with a new recreation center, library, outdoor basketball/sand volleyball courts, dog park and greenway/trail system, and the buildout of the Main Arena in Pelham Civic Complex as part of a successful effort to bring back professional hockey to Central Alabama.  He also served on the Alabama League of Municipalities Board of Directors.

Daniel Huggins - Vice President
Daniel joined the Ingenuity team in March of 2007 and was part of the core team that developed our TeamApps Platform and all of the related applications.  Daniel has become intimately familiar with the challenges faced by our customers and has worked to help tailor our software solutions to meet those needs.  Daniel has served as the Lead Developer on all major Ingenuity e-government projects since joining the team.  In addition to his formal education and degree in Computer Science, Daniel’s natural leadership and managerial skills have created many opportunities for growth at Ingenuity.

Perhaps Daniel’s most unique asset is his ability to relate and communicate with non-technical customers while still maintaining the technical aptitude and skill to deliver on their desires.  This rare combination made him a key member of our team from the day he joined.  Today, Daniel leads the day-to-day operations of the Applications and IT Services teams including overseeing and managing all aspects of our services and software.  Daniel is committed to helping Ingenuity maintain our place as an industry leader and to keeping our customers exceedingly happy with our contribution to their teams.

Mack Baggette - Chief Architect
Mack has broad experience in the development of web-based applications, as well as host-based and networking solutions. He is responsible for designing, creating, and implementing Ingenuity’s web-based applications.  He works closely with Ingenuity customers and website users to define application needs, as well as implement and manage all of our software solutions.

Mack worked as a Senior Developer at Bellsouth until joining the Ingenuity Team in 2002.  At Bellsouth, Mack was responsible for a myriad of complex projects, including a very ambitious complete redesign of the billing management system (BMS).  It isn’t uncommon for Mack to redesign and optimize a process that currently takes hours into one that runs in just a few minutes or seconds.  This attention to detail and focus on efficiency makes Mack a fantastic applications architect.

Mack is the primary designer of the applications framework/platform that is the backbone of all of Ingenuity’s software applications today.  He also leads our team that maintains this framework including making all necessary enhancements and improvements as technology changes.  Unlike many of Mack’s peers, Mack has kept up with technology and is constantly looking for what’s next and how new advances can benefit our framework and customers.
